Hello, My name
is Mick
Moore - The Internet
Entrepreneur. I'm a
web designer, internet marketing consultant, film
maker, and key-note speaker.
I am also the author of the “Home Business Success Kit”,
the “Google Adsense Handbook”

But it wasn't always like
this...
Imagine waking up one morning only to find the life
you have become accustomed to has vanished, virtually overnight. My decade long career as the lead
guitarist for a popular 1980’s Heavy Metal band was over. One minute I’m living
every teenage boys’ dream... and the next, I'm practically penniless and out of work. My Fame…
Fortune… Celebrity status… the whole ball of wax was gone forever! I loved music
and couldn’t imagine doing anything else. How could this have
happened? What was I going to do now?!
 Although I didn’t know it at the time,
circumstances and a major shift in music from the “Pretty Boy” Heavy Metal scene to Seattle’s
stoner “Grunge” look and sound, had thrown me not only a curve, but as I would soon find out—a
life saving rescue.
You see, I had
spent the last couple of years in a slow spiraling descent into what usually kills washed up
musicians and actors in LA. I had gotten caught up in the “Lifestyle” that is Hollywood and it was
slowly killing me, although I couldn’t see it at the time. Everything was about what I was,
instead of who I was.
Most nights were
spent riding my Harley up the Sunset Strip with my entourage—indulging in every excess a celebrity
enjoys in Hollywood and looking for anything that would mitigate my boredom and frustration. A
profound sense of sadness had settled in. I had lost sight of not only my dream, but my life in
general.
But this morning
was different. My girlfriend and I had moved from Hollywood to Marina Del Rey, a small beach
community 30 minutes west of Hollywood, only to find out we didn’t really know each other any
more. I was out of work, without any formal schooling… and broke. I
have always believed if you ask God for guidance, you will receive it. You only need but to ask…
and I did exactly that.
My answer came
in the form of a TV commercial. I loved to draw as a kid and recently had become
intrigued with computers. So when I saw a commercial for a local Graphic Design
College, the proverbial lightning bolt struck me like a hammer from the gods.
At 31 years old,
I would go back to school all day and work a full time job all night. I would then come home, study
into the wee hours of the morning and start the process all over again. On the weekends, I would
learn everything there was to know about graphics and software. Before I was half way through
school, I landed a job doing color separations for Maui & Sons surf wear.
I went from being a Hollywood has been with no skills and education to a talented commercial
artist. My future was limitless and progressive.
Within months of
graduating from school, I landed a full time job as Art Director for a local San Diego logo
company. With a new found zeal, I embraced my career with passion and dedication for the next five
years only to become what I call “The Working Dead.” I had become a “Red Collar” worker in a “White
Collar” world. I would wake up dreading going to work. I felt over worked, under appreciated and
taken advantage of. The better I got, the more work they would pile on me and soon job
security replaced raises.
 I began to resent the company so
much I developed a stomach ulcer. It seemed I was at another
crossroads in my life. I realized that I needed to acquire new skills in
order to change my circumstances. With my strong graphics background, I started teaching
myself how to create websites and connect myself to the infancy of what we know today as the
Internet.
Remembering how
my life changed by going back to school, I took action once again to shape my future.
Every night when I got off work, I would race home and build websites or design logos for anyone
who would hire me. I created T-Shirts, artwork for mugs, pens, and flyers; anything to get
ahead.
I was working
sixteen to eighteen hours a day, seven days a week and I was enjoying the new found creativity and
wealth that came with it.
Before long, I
had built a new and loyal customer base, making more money doing my own little side business than I
made working for the logo company. However, because I loved my work as a commercial artist, I
continued with my day job. Though I have always given 100% to my work, my employer felt threatened
by my new enthusiasm with the Internet and gave me an ultimatum. When I refused to quit my side
business, they fired me. Now I was certain that a huge opportunity must be awaiting
me.
Every morning I
personally thank the hand puppet the bosses chose to fire me only days after Christmas, 2001. It
changed my life. My wife and I took our Internet Company ‘KillerGraffix’ to a six
figure income by the end of that year and continue to enjoy a lifestyle few ever achieve. But
that’s not the end of my story.
After five years
of running my new company, once again I became disenchanted with the business.
Something was missing and I wanted more. I wanted more fulfillment, more wealth
and less work. I wanted to do something new using the knowledge I had acquired building my
business. I needed a new purpose; I wanted to help others.
You know the old
saying… “When the student is ready… The teacher will appear…” Within a month of my new “attitude
adjustment,” I was fortunate enough to be introduced to the first of my many Mentors. I shared an
idea I had come up with about a home study course teaching others how to start an online business
called the “The Home Business Success Kit” and asked his thoughts regarding the project. Not only
did he provide the direction and expertise needed to produce a product of this caliber, he provided
direction and mentoring to bring the idea to fruition.
 By
simply believing in yourself, your ideas, and spending a little bit of time each day to make
your dream happen, incredible opportunities will present themselves. I am living proof that
surrounding yourself with positive, supportive people, and taking action toward your dreams,
can produce amazing results in a matter of weeks, not months or years.
Once you start
applying positive changes in attitude and associations with others, you will notice an immediate
change in your life, and those around you. By helping others achieve success in their lives you
achieve success in yours. I'm now a successful Internet entrepreneur and author. I
have written several books and co-authored 13 books with the likes of Dr. Wayne Dyer, Anthony
Robbins, Brian Tracy, Jim Rohn and Bob Proctor, created a highly acclaimed home study course and
appeared in a movie with several of the stars from the movie The
Secret.
If I can offer a
single piece of advice, it would be this: persistence pays off in spades. Nothing happens
overnight. Those you would call an over-night success probably took close to 10 years to achieve
what they’ve done. Both Rock Superstars Aerosmith and Kiss said it took them 10 years before they
experienced any kind of success and, up to that point, they had experienced what seemed like
endless amounts of failure and disappointment.
Spend a little
time each day going after your goals. You’ll notice doors opening one after another if you stay the
course. Those dark days of uncertainty in Los Angeles were merely stepping stones to
the success that awaited me as soon as I was open to receiving it. Your future success depends on
the actions you take today.
